How to play

Twelve names, eleven calls. You see one number. Is the next one higher or lower? On a board of years the faces read earlier or later; on a board of ages, younger or older. The question names who the call is about and what it is against, every time.

A clock on every call. Each call is worth up to ten. The clock holds for two seconds so you can read it, then the points fall a point a second to nothing. A call that runs out is a wrong call, and waits for you to tap Next; an answered call moves straight on.

Three substitutions. A wrong call spends one. Three wrong and it is still a win; four is a draw. Leave a board unfinished and it is a loss.

114 is the ceiling. Eleven right at full value is 110, and every run of five right in a row is worth two more. Two runs of five, or a perfect eleven, reach 114.

The source shows as the call settles. Every number on a board comes from an opened official record, or from a cached list where the club publishes none, and the line that proves it appears beside the answer once you have called it, never before.

Previous dailies. Any day you missed is in Other boards, to play when you like. Only today’s daily keeps a streak going.
